The crank implementation is great - some of the references in the responses are really special too! The visuals when zooing out on the maps is smooth and the transitions are nice. I can totally see this being a party-game mirroed to a tv. Not seen anything like this on playdate before. Love it.
I'm really pushing the CPU limits drawing the full map, so it's good to hear that all the work I put in optimizing it paid off. Glad you liked the game!
What worked for me was to rename country-quiz-playdate.zip to country-quiz-playdate.pdx.zip . Unzip it, rezip the directory, and then I could sideload it.

I tried sideloading Version 2 of this game to my playdate and got the error: "Could not find a top-level .pdx file."
